April Lockhart

April Lockhart was born on July 4th, 1995. When she was in the seventh grade, she started playing guitar and taking piano lessons which ignited her love for songwriting. April Lockhart composed her first song, Different at the age twelve years old. At the age of 14, April spent much time writing and honed her music abilities. After that, she started taking trips to write with her father, who lived in NY in New York and LA. April also included additional topics in her song"Take my Hand. These topics were meant for the friends of hers who struggled with things like peer pressure and disabilities, or even teenage suicidal thinking. Lockhart is also gaining a growing popularity as a lifestyle influencer and is employed by the renowned brand of clean and natural beauty Ilia. She was not born having a left-handed hand, which is why she's who she is. It's just not the whole story. The profile of Lockhart on Instagram does not hide her disability but doesn't just focus on it. It's a message. The message? We each contain multitudes, that our identities and physical selves are not all that appear. Lockhart has stated on video that she doesn't wish to be defined solely by her handicap. She doesn't wish to become a disability advocate who only speaks about it. There are a variety of aspects to Lockhart. My day-today life is not dependent on it. I live my normal day-to-day life and discover myself solutions for problems. This is also part of my life, and I think that it is something to be talked about. Self-acceptance is a lifelong marathon however Lockhart is an absolute inspiration for this aspect. Lockhart admits to having been through times when she was uncomfortable wearing certain clothing styles which exposed her arms. She wears whatever she wants and proudly posts pictures of herself dressed in outfits she chooses on social platforms. To her, self-love was an extended journey. This is true for everyone, no matter what their degree of self-confidence. It's essential to have those that know and can relate to you. They'll be the ones to ask you: What do you think about?
